The Armstrong siblings find out when they take him on that he's also surprisingly quick when he needs to be. Sloth can fairly easily break through metal and stone, which naturally means he can easily crush people with little to no effort. Even though Sloth isn't the most entertaining Homunculus, he does have impressive physical strength, and when he decides to do something, the results are usually horrifying. His character is exactly what one would anticipate it to be: He mainly complains when he has work to do. Sloth is one of the least interesting Homunculi we encounter in Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood, which may be expected given the deadly sin he is based on. In fact, Pride ultimately kills him because of his lack of suspicion toward his own siblings. Gluttony's only desire is to devour whatever is in front of him, and because of his lack of restraint and empathy for the other people, he is less potent in comparison. Gluttony doesn't just seem to care about his siblings, which Pride and Wrath undoubtedly don't, he also doesn't seem to fully comprehend their goals or their distaste for humans.

Even though Gluttony is one of the more powerful Homunculi due to his many abilities, his childlike character keeps him from realising his full potential. He possesses a variety of useful abilities, such as regeneration, enhanced senses, the capacity to consume and digest just about anything, as well as an internal "Gate of Truth".

Many Homunculi even harbour animosity toward humans. This is the psychological result of their birthright superpowers. Homunculi generally hold the belief that they are superior to all other living things, including humans, in addition to the primary emotion or desire they embody. There is 8 total homunculus in the series, with seven being seven deadly sins and one who is the creator, thus called father.
